start 'em young

Henry loves to do laundry.

BUHAHAHAHAHA!!! I have trained him well!!!

No, seriously, he and I were just hanging out upstairs on Monday night and all of a sudden, he runs over to his dresser yelling "socks!" He teetered on his tiptoes and yanked open the top drawer. Once the socks were in hand, he placed them in his laundry basket, and then turned and ran down the hall, dragging the basket behind him. Unfortunately the door to the laundry room was closed, but that didn't stop him from banging on it and yelling "ON-dree! ON-dree!"

Too bad this is what it actually looks like when Henry "helps" with the laundry...

Camryn's idea of helping me do laundry is to stand next to the dryer, then shut the door as hard as she can the minute I put something in--even if I'M still standing between the door and the dryer! She'll push extra hard if my legs are there, as though sheer effort alone will get that door closed. Siiiighhh.

You go, Henry. My mom first noticed my stepdad when he and she were both in our old apartment laundry room--she said she'd never seen a man who sorted his lights and darks or folded clothes as nicely as Jim! Good laundry skills are definitely one way to woo women. ;)

This was so cute! I love when children "help" with chores.
